why i hate balloons

This, my friends. is the story of how I came to hate balloons.
So yesterday was my little sisters birthday, I had that glorious "I will be and awesome sister!" moment when I decided to go to town and buy stuff to decorate.
along with the decorating brainstorm came the idea I had seen on Pinterest about trapping balloons between plastic and the bedroom door so the birthday-girl (or boy) will be baptized in a heap of happy birthday balloon happiness when they awake and open the door. so I happily (and naively) bought two packs of balloons, unsure on how many I'd need. I was so oblivious to the days of sheer TORTURE that would follow.
I awoke early on the morning of the fated day, happy as a chipmunk and unaware of the horrible day I had coming. I blew up like twenty balloons and had everything ready (My older brother even commented that some kind person should help me blow them up or I would be terribly out of breath, It didn't seem to occur to him that he COULD be that kind person.) anyway, my little sis awoke and was thrilled about the balloons.
BUT TOO THRILLED. as were my two little brothers.
And at first I was as happy as they were.
but THEN. THEN the sound of little (and some not so little) fingers rubbing on balloons and screeching reached my ears, And THEN, my little siblings started whopping me with the balloons, there were balloons everywhere, it was starting to be a lot like a bad dream, filled with terrifying balloons. (some people have nightmares about clowns or bulls or something, I'm pretty sure that mine will be filled with balloons and a constant nonstop rubbing of fingers on them.)
we went to my sister-in-law's place that afternoon, I brought a balloon along for my ah-dee-dorable little nephew. I still hadn't quite learned my lesson, but THAT was the last straw. I blew it up for my nephew. and my brother just younger than me proceeded to steal it from him, then he sat down beside me and whopped me over the head with them balloon, CONSTANTLY. Bam....bam...bam...bam...bam..bam...bam. til I got frustrated and hit the balloon away from him, well. that didn't help.
he proceeded to find one of my nephews toy bouncy balls and bounced THAT ON MY HEAD. he got bored with that since I ignored him and he started entertaining my nephew with one of his stuffed teddy puppies that had a HARD NOSE. then he got the brilliant idea to throw THAT at me. It came flying through the air. FAST, the hard nose hit me right on the eye. luckily I was blinking at the time BUT I SAW ACTUAL STARS. this post is for revenge on my brother and all balloons.
That wasn't the last of the balloon torture. my little siblings all started blowing them up, but they didn't tie them. OH NO. that would be too kind. they would simply release them into the air while unsuspecting me would walk by. and I would be covered in kid-spit, DISGUSTING.
Needless to say, I will never EVER buy my little siblings balloons again.
and I am almost ready to take a vow to destroy any balloon the dares enter this house.
And that, my friends. Is the story of why I hate balloons.

updaaaaate

It is high time I posted again, I have been ignoring the fact that I have a blog. (shame on me.) so, what I have been up to recently besides being awesome:

In April/May I went to visit my cousin/best friend who lives out of state. may I just say awesomest two weeks ever! It was great meeting her friends. and catching up, (to which my family would say "why do you need to catch up? you talk every day." Well. NOT EVERY DAY. and we're like sisters, talking and catching up with your bestie is ALWAYS important. so there. *defiant stomp*) we had a great time, I even dyed my hair blue. (Only partially, and it was washable dye.) that was fun.

June/July was the church camp out...etc, it flew by so fast that I barely know what even happened. July felt like a minute long. seriously.

August/currently. (Well it is August, so duh.) I TURNED SIXTEEEEEEN! YAY! I don't feel totally sixteenish. but then I've felt sixteenish for the last....two years. (yeah, I was that girl.) so that's not surprising that I don't feel any different. Annnnd my little sisters birthday is tomorrow. (she's turning seven.) I wanna decorate the house to shock the socks off of her when she wakes up (actually she doesn't normally wear socks to bed, it's a figure of speech just to clarify.) but no one seems to want to drive me to town -_- that's the problem with not having a license >.< maybe I can bribe my brother into driving me.
Oh, and my parents got me this SWEET little guitar for my birthday. I am absolutely thrilled. Shoutout to my parents for being the best parents ever!!
Anywhoodles.
I should go. I'm absolutely STARVING. Must. Eat. Before. I. Die.
Have a great day!!

Xxx Daisy :)

CocoMocha Slushy

I love Mocha. it's the best thing ever, two of my favorite things mixed into one, Coffee and Chocolate, so i made up this recipe and thought I'd share it...WITH PICTURES! My brother and sister in law borrowed me their Canon Rebel. (Another of my favorite things.) IT'S AWESOME, even though it is older. but really, I'm used to the camera on my Kindle, (Just a hint Amazon: Step up your camera technology on the Kindle Fires, it's really not pretty the way they are now. my mom's flip phone takes better pictures. but otherwise the Kindles are great!)
Anyway, here is the recipe. (It's a really great energy booster for when you think you almost can't handle being a live anymore and just want to sleep for 500 years.)

Two Tablespoons of sugar. (Give or take a little...whatever your sweet tooth demands.)

A tablespoon of this dark brown gold called CHOCOLATTTTTE!

Six cubes of frozen coffee. (It works great to put leftover coffee in an ice tray and freeze it...like i did, then you have a way of using that extra coffee that always gets left in the bottom of the coffee pot. and of you make a practice of it you always have yummy deliciousness at your fingertips.)

 One half cup of milk

throw it all in the blender and blend it all up until it's slushy. (Hence the name :))

Put it in your cute Owl cup and enjoy. (If you have a cute owl cup, if you don't. get one. it gives me lots and lots of happiness. and I'm sure it would for you too...just a suggestion ;))

I mean really just look at those 'dorable creatures...bet you're happier already! :)

Have a simply MARVELOUS day!

Echoes of Mercy book review

When a suspicious accident occurs at the famous Dinsmore Chocolate Factory in Sinclair, Kansas, Caroline Lang goes undercover as a factory worker to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event and how the factory treats its youngest employees—the child workers. Caroline’s fervent faith, her difficult childhood, and compassionate heart drove her to her job as an investigator for the Labor Commission and she is compelled to see children freed from such heavy adult responsibilities, to allow them to pursue an education.

Oliver Dinsmore, heir to the Dinsmore candy dynasty, has his own investigation to conduct. Posing as a common worker known as “Ollie Moore,” he aims to find out all he can about the family business before he takes over for his father. Caroline and Oliver become fast friends, but tension mounts when the two find themselves at odds about the roles of child workers. Hiding their identities becomes even more difficult when fate brings them together over three children in desperate need. When all is revealed, will the truth destroy the love starting to grow between them?

My Opinion: If you love science fiction and would love to read a christian form of it, this book is for you. I'm not the average Science Fiction lover, I like it on occasion but not all the time. I picked this book because i had read other books by this author and loved them.
the first few chapters were interesting but weren't the "Sweep you off your feet, don't know where you are." thing. i thought it would be that way through the whole book but i was wrong! on chapter eight things suddenly started to pick up and i could not force myself to put the book down. I was up until 2 in the morning finishing it, it's a great book. I highly recommend it! Five stars for Chuck Black on writing another great book!

Mckenzie (Montana Skies) book review

Book #1 in the Montana Skies Christian Historical Romance Series

For those who love inspirational romance novels set in the late 1800s...

Desperate times call for desperate measures is the reasoning that prompts McKenzie Worthington, a young lady of Boston's high society, to respond to an ad for a mail-order bride for a man in the Montana Territory. McKenzie is desperate, after all, to save her beloved younger sister, Kaydie, from her evil, abusive husband, who robs banks for a living. And so, it is with reckless determination that McKenzie runs away from the comforts of home and hearth to head West and meet her new husband-whom she'll divorce, of course, after she rescues her sister.

Desperate times call for desperate measures is the reasoning that also prompts Zachary Sawyer, a rugged rancher after God's own heart, to post an ad for a mail-order bride in various newspapers across the country. Managing a ranch and caring for his adoptive son, Davey, has become more than one man can handle alone, and Zach prays for God to send him a wife with whom to build a life and share his dreams.

When McKenzie arrives at Zach's ranch, she immediately puts her plan in motion, searching for her sister and doing all she can to keep her new husband from forming an attachment. But his persistent kindness and significant self-sacrifices begin to change her heart-and ruin her plans. God has a way of working things out to the good of those who love Him, though, as McKenzie and Kaydie will soon see.

If you enjoyed reading McKenzie, you won't want to miss the sequels in this series: Kaydie and Hailee.

^This was copied from Amazon, Below is my own opinion.

My opinion: My mom brought this book home from the library the other day, I honestly didn't think i was going to read it, but when she recommended it, i picked it up and could hardly put it back down. the plot is enthralling, Penny Zeller's writing style is amazing. And the story contains very good morals. The only flaw i found, however. was that the hero was pretty much a perfect person, he only got mad at the heroine once as far as i can remember. but as long as you don't expect a real man to be that perfect then I'd definitely recommend this book! I'm really looking forward to reading the next two in this series!

tis' the season!

Merry Christmas!

It's that time again. the time of year that everyone is happy and it fills you with warmth inside. time for the manger scenes to appear outside and the Christmas lights light up indoors and outdoors. I, for one, have been loving the change of seasons and the happiness that's being spread everywhere.
don't get me wrong, i love summer. and fall...and spring...i actually love all the seasons. they're all beautiful and unique in their own dear little way. but December has something special...it's the month when we celebrate the birth of our Savior! i like to think of it as one of the happiest months of the year, yes, even happier than August. my birth month. although i like to tell my month that August is one of the most important months ever. because it brought me to them. *giggle* and i guess that is pretty important. but nothing beats December when the whole world seems to be happy.

It makes me sad that many people want to take the Christ out of Christmas and lead their kids to believe that Christmas is about Santa and his Reindeer.

Everyone has a right to know what Christmas is really about.

It's about Christ, about Family, about Friends. and about making people happy by sharing the Christmas spirit.

So, if you get a chance. sit down and tell a child about the real meaning of Christmas. or do something extra special for a stranger. it may just be a little thing. but sometimes little things turn out to be the biggest things. and most of all. Have yourself a Holly Jolly Christmas!
