tis' the season!

Merry Christmas!

It's that time again. the time of year that everyone is happy and it fills you with warmth inside. time for the manger scenes to appear outside and the Christmas lights light up indoors and outdoors. I, for one, have been loving the change of seasons and the happiness that's being spread everywhere.
don't get me wrong, i love summer. and fall...and spring...i actually love all the seasons. they're all beautiful and unique in their own dear little way. but December has something special...it's the month when we celebrate the birth of our Savior! i like to think of it as one of the happiest months of the year, yes, even happier than August. my birth month. although i like to tell my month that August is one of the most important months ever. because it brought me to them. *giggle* and i guess that is pretty important. but nothing beats December when the whole world seems to be happy.

It makes me sad that many people want to take the Christ out of Christmas and lead their kids to believe that Christmas is about Santa and his Reindeer.

Everyone has a right to know what Christmas is really about.

It's about Christ, about Family, about Friends. and about making people happy by sharing the Christmas spirit.

So, if you get a chance. sit down and tell a child about the real meaning of Christmas. or do something extra special for a stranger. it may just be a little thing. but sometimes little things turn out to be the biggest things. and most of all. Have yourself a Holly Jolly Christmas!

Pride and Prejudice (2005) movie review

I'd been wanting to watch this movie for quite awhile but never had a chance til a friend brought it over the other day. To say the least, I liked it. A lot. Keira Knightly played  the part of Lizzy Bennett to perfection, in my opinion. Others may or may not agree. I don't hold that against them.

Elizabeth Bennett. Her character is the fun loving happy girl who likes to make the most out of life. A favorite quote of mine is:

Lizzy: [to Mr. Darcy] don't you dance?
Mr. Darcy: Not if I can help it.
[I laughed so hard at that scene]

Mr. Darcy was also very well acted. At first I thought he was much to sober, and I just wanted to slap a smile on his face. But as you watch the movie you realise that he's not always sober. He just doesn't show his true feelings as much as a lot of other people. I believe he is in this movie like Jane Austen pictured him.

Jane Bennett. She is slightly more reserved then Lizzy but still a very amazing character and suited her Mr. Bingley to a T.

Mr. Collins. To say the least he gave me the willies. But the movie wouldn't be quite right without him. (To laugh at;))

THIS SCENE MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD. oops. Excuse the caps lock. But seriously though.
Mr. Bingley: [Practicing proposing, with Mr. Darcy as Jane.] Miss Bennett.
Mr. Darcy: [bows] Mr. Bingley.

-Quotes-
Mrs. Bennett: Oh, Mr. Bennett. The way you carry on anyone would think our girls look forward to a grand inheritance. When you die, Mr. Bennett. Which may in fact be very soon. Our girls will be left without a roof over their heads or a penny to their name.

Lizzy: Oh, please mama, it's ten in the morning.
........................................

Northfield butler: a Mrs. Bennett, a Miss Bennett, a Miss Bennett, and a Miss Bennett.

Caroline Bingley:  Oh for heaven's sake. Are we to receive every Bennett in the country?
........................................

Mrs. Bennett: Oh for goodness sake, everyone behave naturally.
........................................

And with that I must go. Xxx Daisy.

.rainy day.

It's one of those days when you just want to cuddle  up with a book and a blanket and forget the rest of the world and anything that wants to make you do anything. *glances at mother* (I have nothing against my mother. She just knows what NEEDS to be done. And I just want to do what could wait for like, a year or so. And if I'd be diligent and listen I'd probably have time to do the things I want.) But no. I'm free soul who has to do what inspires me and I have to do it right away. Sometimes I remind myself of Jo March. I think I'm a mix between Jo and Anne of Green Gables. Always getting into scrapes and constantly scribbling away at my stories. L.M Montgomery and Louisa May Alcott really get me. They do.

Yes. That would be me. Jane Austen also understands me.

This has become a favorite quote of mine. It's a comfort to think this at the end of the day.

So anyway. Just some musings from my day. I must go for mother calleth!

I love Lucy Maud Montgomery's style of writing. love her Anne of Green Gables series! i am also a fan of Grace Livingston Hill, and many others! I adore coffee, chocolate,  and misty autumn mornings. I believe Autumn is my favorite season, I love the clear skies, frosty mornings, sparkling stars, warm blankets and lattes! i also love summertime. sitting beside a crackling fire with hot chocolate on a cool summer evening with friends is hard to beat. and the summer volleyball. my favorite sport! i also love being with my bestie and dreaming of that "someday" Europe trip we plan to take together. I love old books, perfume that brings back memories, songs that inspire me, and letters...just to name a few! I dream of owning a coffee shop/ lending library someday. I think the two of them together would be perfection! Thanks for stopping by!
